Workshop Description
This comprehensive two day workshop is specifically designed for band employees and leaders. The course is community based, practical and materials are tailored to meet the needs of First Nations as unique self-governing bodies in Canada. You will have the opportunity to learn from trained facilitators and each other in small group settings. Topics include:

Financial Management and Strategic Planning
The workshop also includes a guided cases study of the financial management and governance changes put in place by the Membertou First Nation in Nova Scotia. These changes have contributed to community success, helping the Membertou First Nation to move from a massive operating debt to financial success in a relatively short time.
