Facebook Tips and Tricks
Here we'll address some practical concerns and offer some very practical solutions for using Facebook professionally.
There is a very good help section on the facebook web site: http://www.facebook.com/help.php
Problem: I don't want work associates and certain people seeing my whole profile which includes some embarrassing photos of me and some goofy things that my friends posted.
Solution: First of all, fully explore the privacy section of facebook, which is a link in the upper right-hand corner of your profile page. Next step is to go to profile privacy, then set the privacy settings for your photos to be only your friends. If there are certain friends who you want to exclude from seeing photos or certain parts of your profile, you can exclude them here as well. Problem solved!
Problem: I took some quizzes and joined some games that my friends sent me months ago and I never use them, but they are cluttering my profile now and sending me notices that just spam me. How to I get rid of them?
(note: an application is a part of your profile, like your wall, fun wall, stickies, notes, and many more)
Solution: If you simply don't want people to see a part of your profile, you can hide that part by clicking the triangle at the top of the application box. For example, if you don't want people to see your friends by default, you can click the triangle to collapse the friends box on your profile.
If you want to delete and application box, you can click the X at the upper right hand corner of the application box.
The best way to get rid of a pesky application on your profile is to delete it completely. To do this, click "Applications" which is right under the search box in the upper left hand corner of your profile window. You will see a list of applications, and you can delete any of them by clicking the "x Remove" button.
